Issues Reported During June 2009

Though I haven’t published anything to this site since last year, I felt that I needed to do so at this point in time, for the expressed purpose of keeping a record of recent happenings and discussions with property management personnel.

Though there have been several times I have gone to the office to complain about problems I have not done much other than mention them to Christina, the only office staff person left since the last site manager was fired nearly three months ago.

Having complained several times about kids riding their bike all over the place and other activities that were a violation of the property policies at the tennis court, I was told by Kristin to take pictures of the offenders, and she would see that the proper tenants were spoken to. I drafted a letter concerning these issues and attached pictures and took it to the office on 12 June when we renewed our lease.

At the time we renewed our lease, on 12 June, We also expressed several things that we were not happy with concerning the pool area. As many of these problems persisted, I later followed this conversation up with a letter on 20 June. Also on 20 June I called the police at 3:00am in the morning due to a “ruckus” at the pool. I found out that these same kids came back a couple of nights later and that some tenants in Building 2 called the police again, and that 4 kids were arrested.

On the 22 of June I received a phone call from District Manager, Debbie Pinto. She was very rude to me on the phone stating from the beginning of the call that we were not owners here and really had no rights, that she had looked over files pertaining to me and noted that all I did was complain and that if I was so unhappy, why don’t I just move, that she would be glad to let me out of my lease; in fact she didn’t know why they even let me renew. She said that I was rude to her personnel, to the point that I had apologized to Kristin, that they were short handed and doing the best they could. Three times she noted that she would release me from my lease and suggested that I should leave. All This was before I even got the opportunity to say a word in response. I spent the next 10 minutes correcting her misconceptions and explaining some of the specific issues that I had complained about.

On 26 June I spoke with Jerry, the maintenance supervisor while at the pool and asked why he continually throws the debris from the pool onto the apron and the grassed areas surrounding the pool. He noted that he only takes it to a trash receptacle if he has time, besides the “yard” people clean it up. I pointed out stuff that the “yard” people did not clean up and that they were just here yesterday. He then said, well that’s not a problem because you clean it up when you come to the pool everyday. I then asked him if he just did it to be an asshole and to show a lack of respect for me. He walked away without answering.

On 28 June I sent an email to Kristin concerning the problem that was being experience with rats roaming the property. I attached pictures that were sent to me from Marc, my next door neighbor.
